Step 2) Split the shape up and calculate the area:

Area of triangle = 0.5 x base x height = 0.5 x 25 x 50 = 625mm2

Area of rectangle = base x height = 75 x 50 = 3750mm2

Total area = 625 + 3750 = 4375mm2
